Part of a full bathroom addition, this sauna is meant as an isolated luxurious retreat for the client, a place to disappear after a long day. Surrounded by black slate and live edge wood, the sauna is clad completely in clear cedar, from top to bottom, from walls to benches. The rich diversity of color and grain highlights the unique character of the wood, while also breaking up the synonymity of the material. LED light bars diffuse a warm light through the backrests and under the benches, creating a soft glow punctuated with sharp and crisp shadow lines. A Tylo heater with built-in steamer blankets the bathers in löyly.
